I just thought I should mention that it’s snowing right now.
In October.
In Oxford.
I’ll give ten points to the person who can link this to the financial crisis ![]()

Enjoy! Unexpected snow is one of the nicest surprises in life. (: Somehow it makes one forget everything else…at least for a little while. Don’t know why this is; it just is.

Ummm, it’s a global climate change problem.
If Bush had signed the Kyoto Protocol (ignoring the fact that Clinton didn’t sign it either) there would have been new industries created to lower greenhouse gases. The economy as a whole would have grown larger, those over priced houses wouldn’t be overpriced and the bad mortgages wouldn’t have failed.
There. I hit all the favorite blame points, climate change, Bush and the financial crisis, do I get bonus points?

ten points to Chris. You can blame anything on Bush right now so that doesn’t count, and climate change? Surely you don’t believe that’s real, do you?
As to bonus points, I refer you to Naomi’s view on the topic.

Say it aint so, Sam! You agree with Sarah Palin that there is no such thing as global warming?!? I don’t care about points. Just assure me that you don’t give that Class 5 moron from Alaska the time of day.

Man, I can’t believe Chris beat me to the global warming / new industry development connection! Of course, he laughed as I told him that’s the answer…

Time of day? She thinks that the earth is only 6,000 years old. I doubt that she would understand you, if you were to give her the time of day. I have hope, though, that she won’t matter much soon. You see, one of the very red states has shifted to the pink of “unclear:” Montana! Yup, my very Republican home state has enough “crazy liberals” now to make its scant number of votes matter a bit more. Hooray!
Also: it snowed on Sunday here in Minnesota. Who knew that it would make it half way around the world by Tuesday?

Aunt Anne, to assuage any fears you may have, perhaps I should point out that I have worked as the research assistant for three years for one of the world’s leading advocates for international collaboration on dealing with climate change and also my supervisor edited a four volume set called “human choice and climate change”.
And Mercedes, I told Naomi about how no matter what a kid’s costume for Halloween is in MN, they inevitably end up as the “marshmallow man” because of all the coats they have to wear to keep warm.
That snow and frost last night really knocked ALL of the leaves off the trees. Welcome, winter.

You don’t want to know what it’s like in California right now, do you?

Sam, I really wasn’t worried. About you, that is… Grin.
There’s “talk” here in AZ that McCain mght not carry his home state. Now that would be something! Works for me…(:
