January 2006

I've just picked up a new job. I'll now be working through the James Martin Institute to organise a seminar/conference series with Sir Crispin Tickell on Science, Technology, and the Environment. It should be a fantastic way to put many of my skills to the test. Topics for discussion include:

  • environmental refugees
  • the future of humanity
  • water problems (scarcity, pollution, etc)
  • effects of increasing populations
  • different patterns of consumption
  • the meaning of development
  • And many others

We're hoping to put on up to six of these seminars a year. So, what do you think is the most pressing matter concerning the environment?

Dates mean little to me. It’s my absent-mindedness coming out. I have just now completed my Year in Review for 2005, and I hope that everyone enjoys it. There were so many more stories this year than I could tell, and I told so few.

Not much has been said by Kindahl lately. Here’s her email from Christmas Eve, and another that I got today.

Just to let you know how monotonous my life is: On Christmas Eve Day, today, I got up and 5:45 am to go workout, then I went to work like usual. We have a Christmas party later tonight with salsa dancing. I‚Äôm looking forward to it. It‚Äôs been a bad couple of days for me. I‚Äôm blue from spending Christmas away from my family and miss them so much! (more…)
